Is your child starting school in September 2017?

If you have applied for your child to join us in September 2017 then you can expect the following:

  1. You have completed the on-line application form at: https://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/education/schoolsandcolleges/admissions/primary/home.aspx
  2. Your application will be considered by the admissions team at Staffordshire County Council.
  3. You will receive notification of your child’s school place on Tuesday 18th April 2017 either by email or by 2nd class post.
  4. If you have been successful and your child is offered a place at St Andrew’s we will write to you straight away.
  5. You will receive a welcome pack containing a warm welcome from the head teacher, a St Andrew’s parent handbook, an invitation to meet the Reception Class team and other parents in your child’s year group, an invitation for your child to attend a short visit and another invitation for your child to attend a longer visit,  which includes staying for lunch. You will also receive a home-school agreement and data collection sheets.
  6. Your child starts school full time on Wednesday 6th September 2017.

Parents’ Evenings

A fortnight before the two parents’ evenings you will receive a form on which you can request your preferred day and time. We will endeavour to fulfill your request. We will then inform you of the date and time of your consultation with your child’s class teacher. Please make a note of your parents’ evening time and date. To attend your consultation with your child’s class teacher please do the following:
i. Make your way to the school hall.
ii. Year 6 pupils will be there to meet and greet you.
iii. Year 6 pupils will get your child’s books and usher you to sit down.
iv. At your appointment time a Year 6 child will escort you to your child’s classroom.
v. You will have 10 minutes to discuss your child’s progress and any other issues.
vi. After 10 minutes Year 6 pupils will escort the next parents to their meeting. We request that you to wrap up your discussion quickly when the next parents arrive.
vii. You will then be escorted back to the school hall. We are happy for you to continue looking through your child’s work.
Please note – we request that Year 5 and Year 6 pupils attend with their parents to meet their teacher.

Messy Church meetings are fun, activity sessions with a Christian message for children aged 3 – 11 years. The emphasis is on having a fun time, making a mess (being creative!) and learning stories from the Bible.
